Simplivity storage balancing is garbage
4 node cluster. Create a VM on node 1, storage picks 2 and 4.
It causes warnings in vcenter "SimpliVity VM Data Access Not Optimized"
dsv-balance-manual works sometimes. Half the time it just runs forever and ever and never moves anything. Any time I ask support about it, they try to blame DRS. I DON'T HAVE DRS, we have vSphere Standard, you have to have Enterprise for DRS. So annoying.
I just replaced 2 nodes with newer nodes and the older nodes are going to our DR site. I've been trying to get them balanced for 3 days now.

Re: Simplivity storage balancing is garbage
I know balancing VMs and primary annd secondary copie are a pain. I recommend you open a ticket via the Customer Support Portal and let one of the SimpliVity support engineers give you a hand. We have some amazing tools to help us do things like you are doing. You can say I told you to
While I am an HPE Employee, all of my comments (whether noted or not), are my own and are not any official representation of the company
