Re: technological renovation
Hi jdiaz
Migrating from HPE SimpliVity 4.0.1 ESXi 6.7 to HPE SimpliVity 4.1.3 ESXi 7 can be done using a rolling upgrade process. Here are the general steps that you can follow:
1. Review the HPE SimpliVity 4.1.3 Release Notes and ensure that your hardware and software are compatible.
2. Verify that you have a valid support contract with HPE SimpliVity and ensure that you have backups of all data and configurations before starting the migration process.
3. Take a snapshot of each SimpliVity cluster node in the 4.0.1 ESXi 6.7 environment.
4. Upgrade the first node in the cluster to HPE SimpliVity 4.1.3 ESXi 7 using the SimpliVity One-Click Upgrade tool. The One-Click Upgrade tool automates the process and ensures that all required components are upgraded.
5. Verify that the first node is successfully upgraded and operational.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each additional node in the cluster, one at a time. During the upgrade process, the cluster will continue to function, but the SimpliVity virtual machines (VMs) may be migrated or resynchronized to maintain data availability.
7. After all nodes have been upgraded, upgrade the SimpliVity software in each vSphere cluster.
8. Once all nodes are upgraded and the SimpliVity software is updated, test the system to ensure that it is fully operational.
It's important to note that the above steps are just a general guide, and your specific migration process may vary based on your environment and configuration. I would request you to consult the HPE SimpliVity Tech support team for any questions.
Hope this helps.!!
Regards
Mahesh

Re: technological renovation
Thank you very much for the answer, my situation is that the equipment is under lease and will be returned to HPE, new equipment was purchased, I have to migrate the virtual machines from my current environment 4.0.1 esxi 6.7 to a new one 4.1.3 with esxi 7, This is deployed, there will be a way to perform the migration of VM's between simplivitys, is there a tool or procedure to carry out this activity.

SolutionMy take on your situation would be to downgrade as many of the new nodes that you need to hold all your VMs to 4.0.1 esxi 6.7. Down Grade the ESXi and the SVTSP. Use standard VMWare procedeuresa to migrate your VMs to the new downgraded nodes. When you have them on the new nodes, upgrade the downgraded nodes back to 4.1.3 with esxi 7. Then move the VMs tothe other new nodes as needed, or let DRS do it.
To me this is easier than upgradeing all your nodes then moving them. You could do the same thing in reverse, By moving all your vms to as many of the old nodes as you need and Upgrade them.
That might even be easier. Here is the upgrade guide,

Oh , and to answer your question Upgrade Manager will be thew application to upgrade. Comes with the software. Unless someone wrote a script moving them would be from vSphere I would think,
