I've a question about the support of having a VM with some virtual disks on the simplivity storage and some on a different data store from another storage.
To be a bit clearer.
We attached an ISCSI storage to the simplivity hosts and mounted it in vsphere.
We'd like to use that storage to hold some virtual disks for a couple of VMs which have they disks on simplvity storage.
Is that supported ? Might it cause issue with the simplivity's backup ?
thanks

SolutionStefano,
The attachment of iSCSI targets to the ESXi host is not supported on SimpliVity systems. Support will ask that these connection be removed.
The use of an iSCSI initiator on the guest VMs to connect to an external iSCSI target is supported.

Re: Using additional ( ISCSI ) Storage with simplivity
Additionally, the SimpliVIty backups of VMs with external data connections will report as PARTIAL, as the external data volumes are not included in a SimpliVity backup. Only data located in the same datastore folder as the VM configuration file will be included in SimpliVity backups.

Re: Using additional ( ISCSI ) Storage with simplivity
Hello,
Is it possible to have some more details on how this configuration won't be supported?
Which issue might be introduced by simply having additional storage on the ESXi host when the VM would have all files only on either of the two ?
thanks
