Wait for Storage HA Compliance task STUCK

Wait for Storage HA Compliance task STUCK

Hi,

I am running HPE Simplivity 4.1.2.  I needed to shut down a cluster and believe I may have not done so correctly.  A "Wait for Storage HA compliance" task is stuck, and I cannot clear it.  

Is there a way to clear this task?

Hello @TDW1,

 

A few questions, is this happening on the last OVC that you are powering down? Are all VMs shutdown?

Also, make sure all VMs are in HA. You can use the command svt-vm-show.

If it's the last OVC and everything looks clean, you can do a svt-shutdown-force to skip this check and continue with the shutdown, but only do it if you are sure everything else is clean.

Hi @gustenar ,

This is happening on the last ovc that I shutdown.  I have all the VMs back up and running since that last shutdown.  I ran the svt-vm-show and verified that all VMs are in HA. 

If I move the VMs off of the server and run the svt-shutdown-force should that clear the current task?

Do you have available nodes to move the VMs? If not, you could just power them off. And to answer your question, when you run that command it will force the OVC to continue with shutdown.

I tried the force but the task is still there.  It is like the task is orphaned.

The command will force the shutdown of the OVC, did that happen? Are you only seeing the task in vCenter but the OVC actually shutdown?
