HPE Boot Device NS204i-p Gen10 Plus (P12965-B21) NVMe-SSD compatibilty

Which NVMe SSDs are still suitable or compatible with this controller?

Hi,

you don't need them.

The HPE NS204i-p already includes two 480GB M.2 NVMe SSDs.

See: https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/a00094638enw?section=Document%20Types&r=none

(Only the NS204i-r riser and NS204i-t have no SSD)

Any updates here guys? I have an ns204i-p on the way from china without drives. I might pull an nvme out of another pc to test temporarily unless anyone can confirm?

Re: HPE Boot Device NS204i-p Gen10 Plus (P12965-B21) NVMe-SSD compatibilty

The NS204 controller was developed and tested with only 2x 480GB NVMe.
It doesn't look like anyone here has tried it with other sizes.
And I'm sure no one will give a guarantee as to whether it might work.
But if you test it, I'd be interested to know whether something like that would be possible.
The NS204 is not suitable for storing other data, it is simply too weak for that, which is why there are no larger disks for it.
See Quick Spec Note:
Function OS boot only
Originally, smaller disks were planned (240GB would be sufficient as a Windows boot medium), but they are simply no longer available.
If you plan on doing anything other than booting an OS, this is the wrong controller (approach) and you will not be happy with it.

Hi, the information about compatibility with larger nvme disks would be extremly helpful for me too. Have you allready tried?

@Cali

Are the same 480G NVMe drives used in the NS204i-p and NS204i-r?
