connect hp san switch 8/24 via ethernet
I have to get to StorageWorks 8/24 management without that connects it to the offie network. what´s wrong. this SW is fiber only has one Ethernet port and it won´t let me configure it. you can configure the IP of the sw so that it is the same as that of the core, but the port configuration so tat it connects to my sw core, which is purely ethernet, does not reach us from ping via cmd. i need help! i sw core manages vlan while san manages zones and it doesn´t let me put the commands they tell me

Re: connect hp san switch 8/24 via ethernet
Try this:
Connect your Laptop with the Serial Cable and 9600/8/N/no.
Set SW IP like this: ipaddrset -ipv4 -add -ethip 172.16.1.43 -ethmask 255.255.255.0 -gwyip 172.16.1.254
Connect your Laptop direct to the Switch and set your Laptop IP to: 172.16.1.142, 255.255.255.0
(Or use your IP Range)
If you can ping the Switch now, the Switch is fine and you have to set the right VLAN on your core SW Port.
