Re: Firmware problem with 3Com Switch

The switch interface appears to have reset. Now it's asking for firmware when you try to access it via the web or console interfaceThis typically means the firmware has been erased or corrupted, and the switch is now in recovery or bootloader mode, asking for you to upload the firmware manually.

Re: Firmware problem with 3Com Switch

Unfortunately, I have not been able to locate the correct firmware file for this model on your official support website or elsewhere online. I would kindly ask if you could provide me with the latest official firmware file for this switch or direct me to a secure source where I can download it. I can access the web interface, but cannot proceed without the firmware file. Status- In FailSafe Mode.

Re: Firmware problem with 3Com Switch

That usually happens when the firmware got wiped or corrupted during a reset. You’ll need to reload the correct firmware through the console port or TFTP.

If you still have access to the 3Com support archive or HP’s legacy site (since HP took over 3Com), you should be able to find the firmware file there. Once you have it, use the boot menu or CLI to upload it again.

Had the same issue once — it’s fixable, just takes a bit of setup.
