HPE 5710 VxLAN VTEP Interop SDN — VLAN Not Forwarding
Hello,
I have a 3 VTEPs (Proxmox VE nodes in cluster using the SDN VXLAN plugin (with MTU 9216)) to transport application VLANs as overlays. The SDN zone "Zone1" peers with my those 3 node IPs plus a HPE FlexFabric 5710 switch (IP: 10.124.100.4), which is configured as a VTEP using native VxLAN features.[1]
On the HPE 5710 (sw5710):
- I defined VLAN 801 (VNI 200), as used by some VMs.
- VxLAN tunnels are manually created to each Proxmox node.
- The Bridge-Aggregation2 interface (connected to another HPE switch, sw5130) is set as trunk, allowing VLAN 801.
- All relevant VLANs are permitted on the trunk.
- L2VPN is enabled.
Current status:
- All Tunnel interfaces are UP, but there is zero traffic on each (TX/RX = 0).
- From sw5710, I cannot ping VLAN 801’s interface on sw5130.
My goal: traffic from VMs using VLAN 801 (over VXLAN, tag 200) should be decapsulated on the HPE 5710 and delivered as 802.1q-tagged (VLAN 801) frames out to sw5710.
**Has anyone successfully integrated SDN VXLAN overlays with HPE switch native VXLAN VTEP, delivering VLANs to downstream switches? Any pointers to make this setup work are much appreciated.**
Thanks!
