Reset Admin & Root users for SAN SW Brocade switch 8/24 blade
Hello
I have two SAN SW Brocade switch 8/24 blade that was part of an old fabric , after replacing them with two new san sw (16 G) I tryied to login to this old sw but can not , currently they are standalone "not in fabric " and not production also , So
My question :
Can I make reset all users exist in this sws?
If can not , can I do a factory reset and just reconfigure every thing from scratch ?will that affect installed FOS or firmeware or just reset the config exist in the sw inclouded the local users admin, root , user ???

Re: Reset Admin & Root users for SAN SW Brocade switch 8/24 blade
Hi @owahid ,
You can do the factory reset on the old switch which is not in use/production. That will not impact the existing FOS. Just the local configurations and users/admins will be reset.
You must have 'securityadmin' privileges/credentials handy for factory reset or resetting all other users (If you don't have, you may have to contact the vendor to get the credentials working). Please let me know if you want to know more details about the procedure.

Re: Reset Admin & Root users for SAN SW Brocade switch 8/24 blade
Hi Owahid
Here are the steps to change the account's root, user, and factory passwords by using SSH.
On the first login, you will be prompted to set a new password. With entering you can start the process by pressing Ctrl-C you can end the process. At the next login, you will be asked again to change the password.
Default passwords are:

Log in to the switch by using SSH:
