SANnav - Failed to purge 3 reports. Delete access denied.
HPE SANnav Management Portal
Version: 2.2.0.1
Build build: 29
I have 3 reports which I created once:
After 30 days I get the following error in SANnav:
Failed to purge 3 reports. Delete access denied.
This error occurs every day.
I think that after 30 days SANnav automatically deletes the reports.
Only it can't delete my reports for some reason.
I can delete the reports manually.
Does anyone know the problem?

Re: SANnav - Failed to purge 3 reports. Delete access denied.
Hello @MarioE,
I haven't seen such issue before. But have you checked the permission levels of the system user that is responsible for automatically deleting your reports?

Srinivas Bhat

Re: SANnav - Failed to purge 3 reports. Delete access denied.
Hello @sbhat09
thanks for the information.
Which system user is responsible for automatically deleting the reports? Where can I see this?
I have a CentOS Linux release 7.9.2009 (Core) installation (not the SANnav Management Portal Appliance installed with OVA file).
On the CentOS I only work with root.
According to the "Brocade® SANnav™ Management Portal Installation and Migration Guide, 2.2.0x"
Installation Prerequisites:
Make sure that you have the following information:
- Root user credentials. You must log on to the SANnav server as the root user or a user with root privilege.

Re: SANnav - Failed to purge 3 reports. Delete access denied.
Hello @MarioE,
Further dig down on the root cause would require remote troubleshooting and log analysis. You can open a case with HPE support for detailed analysis.

Re: SANnav - Failed to purge 3 reports. Delete access denied.
Hello @sbhat09
I have had a case open with HPE for 6 weeks with no one really taking care of the case. That's why I asked the community, maybe someone has the same problem.

Re: SANnav - Failed to purge 3 reports. Delete access denied.
Hello @MarioE
I agree with you that the case response is overdelayed.
I checked the case details internally. It is elevated to HPE product engineering. They have done their analysis and then opened a cross vendor case for further analysis.
The support team who is corresponding with you don't have visibility on the cross vendor case status.
I requested the support team follow up through product engineering.
Thanks for your patience. The support team will correspond with you about the update.
Regards,
Srinivas Bhat

Re: SANnav - Failed to purge 3 reports. Delete access denied.
After 6 weeks I have now received a response from HPE:
"Issue could be reproduced in our LAB.
We observe the error as "Access denied due to insufficient privileges" when the automatic report purging is running on the SANnav server. This is a defect in SANnav 2.2.0 and we are targeting SANnav 2.2.1 to fix this issue."
