2 enclosures connected both lost power
HI
I am about to put HPE synergy frame in production but would like to test if both enclosures lost power at the same time. What will happen to OneView Frame Link modules and whether oneview will be available once we put power back
Not sure if anyone had the same case but would like to perform that test hopefully it will not cause any damage

Re: 2 enclosures connected both lost power
Hi daliborazure,
Hope you are doing good.
If both enclosures lost power at the same time the Frame Link Module would loose power since they are dependent on enclosure power. If multiple enclosures with power supply are connected, OneView would automatically reinitialize the management infrastructure once power is restored, if not there would be a risk of bringing the appliance down. For more information regarding power management please refer this link.
Thanks and Regards,
Manoj.

Re: 2 enclosures connected both lost power
Ya in case of this happening then I would have to reimage both composers to establish cluster and then restore from backup. That may take some time I am just concerned about damaging the system but if appliance is down and no One View is working on both composers I would have to reimage them both must have the same version
Was that ever tested to the best of your knowledge

Re: 2 enclosures connected both lost power
Also a question if this happens i may need to reimage composers and potentially reset frame link modules to factory settings

Re: 2 enclosures connected both lost power
Hi daliborazure
Hope this reply helps you.
A backup needs to be taken and both the composers needs to be reimaged which must have the same version. Frame link Modules configuration settings would be backed up by OneView so once restored the configuration would also be restored. Please do be aware that this procedure makes the appliance down.
Thanks and Regards,
Manoj.

Re: 2 enclosures connected both lost power
thanks a lot for this information. When I power on enclosures again will interconnect retain their configurations or I have to wait for back up to finish
Right now I have iLO for both composers and just curious whether iLO IP for composers will be retained or that also have to wait untill back up is done

Re: 2 enclosures connected both lost power
Hi daliborazure
Interconnect retain their configurations only after the backup is completed.
Thanks and regards,
Manoj.
