Adding new frames to existing FLM ring

I have 2 frames connected in a mgmt ring.  They are also connected via the ILM's.  I need to add 2 additional frames into the Mgmt FLM ring only.  Is disconnecting the FLM ring cables to add in the new frames disruptive in any way?

Re: Adding new frames to existing FLM ring

As long as the FLM's LINK topology is a healthy ring, opening the ring to add more is definitely not disruptive.  By opening, I mean one piece of the loop, do not break multiple parts of the topology at the same time, that should still not be disruptive but it isn't quite as safe; depending on where the standby composer lives it could cause a split-brain confusion if at least one direction of the ring is not maintained.

Go to one of the 'enclosures' and inspect the frame link topology to see.

Also, if you're adding frames please review http://www.hpe.com/support/BP-Grow-HPE-Snergy-Logical-Enclosures

You might be adding them as separate LEs so you don't have to follow that process but it has some cautions and preparation info that might be helpful, depending on what your intention is.
