Composer2 and Gen9 compatabilty

We are planning to upgrade our composer 1st gen's to composer 2's.  Are there any issues running Gen9 blades in frames with Composer 2's?  I've searched everywhere but cannot find any info.

Re: Composer2 and Gen9 compatabilty

The Composer (1st gen) or Composer2 itself isn't directly concerned about whether it's Gen9 or later.  However, first understand the choice of HPE OneView versions and their supported HPE Synergy SSPs:

You will want to do a little research for your required OS versions.  On this page, for example, https://support.hpe.com/connect/s/softwaredetails?language=en_US&softwareId=MTX-762b6fa464aa4afb8509f184e8 you'll find this statement:

"NOTE:  HPE Synergy Service Packs (SSPs) released after 2022.08.01 will not support HPE Synergy Gen9 servers."

This notice is also relevent:

Re: Composer2 and Gen9 compatabilty

Hi!

I've read through the links and would like to ask if I understood correctly: we can run Composer2 (8.x) with Gen9 and Gen10/Gen10+ blades as long as we keep the right firmware set for each blade generation. Gen9 would run 2022.08.01 and Gen10/Gen10+ would run 2023.03.01 (the latest as of this writing).

Thanks!

Re: Composer2 and Gen9 compatabilty

Correct.   The infrastructure would also run whichever was the latest.  This works as long as the firmware bundles are still within the support timeframe (1 year).  After that, it keeps working, ...but you won't get fixes.
