Connect synergy server to Synology NAS over iSCSI

I want to know the procedure to connect HPE synergy server running ESX8.0 to a Synology NAS over iSCSI.

Typically, this would be answered by the storage vendor, as they own the support matrix. The question here is do you need hardware offload iSCSI, or is software iSCSI initiator enough? If iSCSI initiator, it would be any different of an Ethernet network defined in Virtual Connect (if you have that fabric module), and then configuring the ESXi software iSCSI initiator.
