HPE synergy and NVME TCP/IP

I have received new storage array and Synergy is already setup. Now for storage connections I will definitely use NVME TCP/IP

My question would be when I create network what kind of network it should be either Ethernet or RoCE. I was under impression that it should be Ethernet however i found this article

https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=sd00001378en_us&page=s_dcbx-settings.html

Now i am thinking i should make RoCE network and then go to uplink set and enable DCBx override and then choose NVME TCP/IP as protocol. Then when i add connection to server profile function type should be still internet. I am just wondering if there is any special setup to get maximum of this new NVME TCP/IPNVME.JPGNVME1.JPG

Re: Query: HPE synergy and NVME TCP/IP

Hi

I am familiar with operating system configuration but just wondering when I create network should I create RoCE network and then on uplinks use DBCx override and enable just NVME TCP/IP as this is an option but on HP site it never says what kind of network to create just regular Ethernet or RoCE network and then on uplink ports enable DCBx and then click NVME TCP/IP

THis applies to Synergy 12000 frame

Re: Query: HPE synergy and NVME TCP/IP

In HPE Synergy OneView, you can use either NVMe over TCP/IP or NVMe over RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) for storage connections
 - NVMe over TCP/IP uses the ubiquitous TCP protocol while
 - NVMe over RoCE uses lossless bridging to ensure a lossless Remote Direct Memory Access transport

Enabling DCBX override displays the RDMA application protocols, such as NVMe/TCP, RoCEv1, and RoCEv2, that you can select to advertise the port capabilities to the peer port
This setting overrides the default DCBX configuration of RoCE networks for both uplink and downlink ports
