This post is primarily intended for those who are new to HPE Synergy and would like to get familiar with its software releases and downloads.
First, you would have to get familiar with the terms below as you will come across them quite frequently while managing and monitoring HPE Synergy using HPE OneView. This will also help you use the right keywords while posting a query or searching for topics in the HPE Synergy forum.
- Firmware bundle
Firmware bundle is a generic term that HPE OneView uses to refer to firmware items that you add to an HPE OneView firmware repository.
Any Service Pack for Synergy or hot fix files uploaded to the firmware repository in HPE OneView will be referred to as a firmware bundle.

2. Custom firmware bundle
This is a firmware bundle created in HPE OneView by adding one or more hotfixes to an existing firmware bundle.
HPE OneView for Synergy only supports System ROMs as hotfixes.

3. Service Pack:
A service pack is a comprehensive systems software and firmware update solution, which is delivered as a single iso image.
4. Service Pack for Synergy:
The service pack for HPE Synergy is the HPE Synergy Custom SPP and contains firmware updates for components relevant to HPE Synergy. The HPE Synergy Custom SPP is designed to work with specific HPE Synergy Management combinations.

HPE OneView Update Readiness Checker – This page allows you to download the HPE OneView Update Readiness checker, which is a self-contained tool that helps HPE OneView users to evaluate the health of the appliance for a set of known conditions before proceeding with an appliance update.
