Rollback when upgrade failure
Hi All,
I am planning a firmware upgrade for synergy 12000. Components that will be upgraded include: Composer, FLM, Interconnect and servers. During the upgrade if an error occurs. How do I rollback?
Thanks!

Re: Rollback when upgrade failure
You will quickly find that once you have begun the updates it will be more and more difficult to rollback completely in the event of a failure. Often, it is preferable to pursue a forward path. However, if you must rollback, consider these:
- If the Composer update fails it will rollback itself. There are some situations where this does not occur for certain hardware failures and other scenarios. In those cases, you must reimage (wipe out) the Composers back to their original version and restore a valid current backup.
- For the FLM and interconnects, if something goes wrong, you may force apply a prior baseline.
- For the compute modules, likewise you may force apply a prior baseline. However this gets more complicated because there are both firmware and OS drivers to consider that must remain in sync.
You can imagine if you have a single compute or an adapter or even a set of computes or adapters that fail their update-- it would be very time consuming to rollback the entire solution.
