Synergy P12000, SYNERGY 480 GEN9 CTO BLADE Error
- Integrated Management Log:
Server Critical Fault (Service Information: Runtime Fault, Flexible Smart Array, ROC 1 Extended (E8h))
- OneView Activity Hardware Log after refresh from OneView:
Mezzanine card 3 is present but reported incomplete or invalid configuration data.
Resolution
Try the following, one at a time, until the issue is resolved:
1. Verify that a processor is installed in the socket required to support mezzanine card 3 as detailed from the server hardware User Guide or QuickSpecs documents. Either add a processor or remove mezzanine card 3.
2. If the server hardware is not in an unmanaged state, update the mezzanine card 3 firmware using OneView. Otherwise, update the firmware using Smart Update Manager (SUM) by booting into the Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) that is part of Synergy Software Releases.
3. Remove mezzanine card 3 and re-insert it.
4. For iLO5-based servers, verify if iLO MCTP Discovery is disabled for the server or specific adapter mezzanine port. From the iLO management interface, click System Information in the navigation tree, and then click the Device Inventory tab. Click Discovery. If disabled, select MCTP Factory Reset and confirm Yes to enable.
5. Replace mezzanine card 3.
- I tried to re-seat this Server but not resolve. Server always fault when is power on. Can someone guide step by resolve it

Re: Synergy P12000, Server Blade DL380 Gen 9 Error
Hi @WFK8DGVA ,
Please clarify us.
1) The issue persists on DL380 gen9 server or a blade ?
2) If Mezzanine card is the issue here, then I believe it will be blade server. Please provide the blade server model, Mezzanine card model. Then, why Dl server is mentioned here?
3) Let us know the model of the any other mezzanine card installed on blade server.
4) Describe more on error with its snap.
Regards,
Shiva_JR

Re: Synergy P12000, SYNERGY 480 GEN9 CTO BLADE Error
Thank you your reply
1) The issue persists on DL380 gen9 server or a blade ?
- SYNERGY 480 GEN9 CTO BLADE.
- Product ID: 732350-B21
2) If Mezzanine card is the issue here, then I believe it will be blade server. Please provide the blade server model, Mezzanine card model. Then, why Dl server is mentioned here?
- Sorry. I wrong product server, Exactly is: Synergy 480 Gen9, Product ID: 732350-B21
3) Let us know the model of the any other mezzanine card installed on blade server.
- Mezzanine 1 Model: Smart Array P542D Controller
- Mezzanine 3 Model: Synergy 3820C 10/20Gb CNA
4) Describe more on error with its snap.
- Error show OneView try to power on Server:
- Error show on ILO on the Server: Server Critical Fault (Service Information: Power On Fault, Flexible Smart Array, ROC 1 Extended (C8h))
- Error show OneView after try to refresh:
More information i tried detect hardware fault:
- The Server Fault is : A
- The Server running good is: B
Yesterday, i tried to swap Mezzanine 3 (Synergy 3820C 10/20Gb CNA) between Server A and Server B, and start up 2 Server:
.- The Server A can not start and with same error (on ILO and Oneview refresh like capture above)
- The Server B running good.
So I think the Mezzanine 3 card is no problem. I guess the PCIe or mainboard got problem.
Thank you so much

Re: Synergy P12000, SYNERGY 480 GEN9 CTO BLADE Error
Hi @WFK8DGVA ,
If both Mezz cards swapped are of same model, then no issue with the card.
I believe, the motherboard might have the issue. Please log a HPE Support ticket.
