Unable to establish secure communication with the server.

Unable to establish secure communication with the server.

We as standing up 2 new frame and blades.  Everything was working until one blade, which was working fine, decided to fail.  I got errors:

  • -Unable to communicate with the management processor
  • -The server in bay 5 cannot be discovered
  • -The mezzanine card(s) installed on the server hardware in bay 5 cannot be discovered
  • - Unable to establish secure communication with the server. 
  • There are no stored management processor credentials.

I cannot access or ping the ILO.  From Oneview I cannot power cycle or refresh the server.  I physically reseated the server, reseated all of the mezzanine cards, dimms, etc, pulled the mezz cards and reset the nvram.  Nothing worked.  I also cannot power up the server manually by pressing the power button on the front of the blade.  Is there any way to access the ILO console locally?  c7000 blades had that port on the front that would accept the dongle that allowed connecting a monitor and keyboard.

The frame front panel interface has a serial console feature (in the upper right) to all the components.

Additionally, you can ssh to the composer and login as Administrator (not "maintenance) and it will also have a serial interface.

You should verify whether or not your compute module is affected by https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=emr_na-a00121027en_us (same thing for other models).
