Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8 Module Replacement
Hello,
I am new to HPE Synergy servers, and I am encountering an issue while trying to replace a new Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8 Module for the HPE Synergy 12000 Frame.
Issue Description
I replaced the new device in slot ICM6, but after approximately 10 minutes, an error appeared:
The interconnect was not successfully discovered. Interconnect initialization did not complete.
Resolution: Manually remove and reinsert the interconnect module before continuing. If the problem persists, contact your authorized support representative.ICM6 Device Information:
- State: Absent
- Firmware Baseline: Unknown
- Installed Firmware Version: Unknown
- Interconnect Power: Unknown
- Action Button: Missing, not displayed
I tried resetting the device to its default settings, but it still could not be detected as described above.
Logical Interconnect Errors
Firmware Issue:
The interconnect requires a firmware update because the installed firmware version (unknown) is unsupported. The minimum supported firmware version is R1.0.0.
Resolution: Update firmware on the logical interconnect Synergy-FC UPLINK GROUP.Absent Interconnects:
The following interconnects are absent: SYNERGY 12000, interconnect 6.
Resolution: Insert absent interconnects.Stacking Health:
The stacking health has changed to disconnected.
Resolution: Verify that stacking cables are present and properly connected. Ensure the interconnects in the logical interconnect are configured and fully stacked (redundantly connected). If the interconnect is part of an interconnect link topology, verify that there are no interconnect link topology errors. After completing these verifications, either refresh the enclosure or reapply the configuration to the logical interconnect.
Additional Information
I attempted to update the firmware through the Logical Interconnect, but the update failed because of redundancy issues with the stack between ICM3 and ICM6.
Could someone please guide me on the steps and procedures to successfully replace the Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8 Module for Synergy? Thank you!
