Device Denied SNMP Access

Hello

Device Denied SNMP Access

Our switch network can be pinged, but SNMP operation is timeout. How can I fix it?

You might have to specify snmp-server response soruce, using the command:

snmp-server response-source x.x.x.x or Vlan ID

Re: Device Denied SNMP Access

Hello,

As posted above, make sure the response source is configured if the IP with which you are adding the device to iMC is not the same as the one with which your device would respond to queries from iMC according to its routing table.

Aside from that, SNMP access denial is usually caused by incorrect SNMP credentials. Ensure you have configured the same SNMP community in iMC as is configured on the device (for SNMP v1/v2c) or the same user and priv/auth parameters (for SNMPv3).

You can change these settings in iMC and test them to ensure they work by opening the Device Details of the affected device, and then clicking on Modify SNMP Settings under the Configure tab on the right-hand side of the page. This will show you the current settings and includes a Test button as well.

Best regards,
Justin
