HPE IMC 7.3 - Monitoring Internet Link with NTA licence

I am working on a site with IMC 7.3 and using NTA licences. I want to know if we are monitoring our
Internet link correctly. Our total Internet bandwidth is 500Mbps.

However we are monitoring the interface from our Wan switch to our Internet router which are 1Gb interfaces.

My question is this are we accurately reporting our actual ingress/egress internet usage given our bandwidth allocation is 500Mbps total and in IMC when I look at the the monitoring the link as 1GB interface.

When I check the NTA configuration  for the interface ie Services > Traffic Analysis and Audit>Task Management> Modify Traffic Analysis Task>Modify Interface Configuration the max speed is set to 1000000000bps

Re: HPE IMC 7.3 - Monitoring Internet Link with NTA licence

Hello,

Do you share the bandwidth, or all bandwidth over the link will be from your own internet connection?

I don't think there is a way you can separately monitor your 500Mbps slice from a 1Gbps link if the link is shared. If all traffic on the link is yours though - then you could just change the speed in NTA to 500Mbps on the interface, so that NTA considers the 500Mbps bandwidth limit. Additionally you could set up some Threshold Alarm to alert you when the bandwidth goes above a certain point, for example:

Hope that helps.
