TFTP error witch configuration backup of 3COM XRN-Fabric
Dear Forum,
We have different types of switches in our enviroment including some 3COM Superstack XRN-Fabric stacks.
HPE IMC does a good job backing up the switch configurations every week. Recently i noticed that one XRN-Fabric stack isn't able to backup (anymore?). The stack consists of the following switches;
Unit 1
First mac address : 20fd-f1b4-b500
Product serial number: 9KVFDXSB4B500
Product 3C number : 3CR17162-91
Unit 2
First mac address : 20fd-f1b4-a140
Product serial number: 9KVFDXSB4A140
Product 3C number : 3CR17162-91
Unit 3
First mac address : 20fd-f196-1c40
Product serial number: 9KWFDYS961C40
Product 3C number : 3CR17171-91
The errors i see in the IMC tftp log;

So one config file is succesfully transferred and the rest times out.
Other XRN-Stacks with a similar buildups have no problems backing up the config to the IMC TFTP server.
The strange thing is that i can manualy backup the configs to another TFTP server. When i try to do the same action to the IMC TFTP server, i get the error as seen below;
<SW-DTC-001>backup fabric current-configuration to 172.20.11.68 SW-DTC-001.cfg

Has somebody experienced this behaviour before and is there a solution to the problem?
Thanks in advance

Re: TFTP error witch configuration backup of 3COM XRN-Fabric
Is your XRN Fabric (10.201.208.96) correctly routed to (do a Ping test) to the HPE IMC TFTP Server (172.20.1.4) and viceversa?
I'm not an HPE Employee

Re: TFTP error witch configuration backup of 3COM XRN-Fabric
Hello,
Please try for manual backup in IMC for this device 10.201.208.96 and check the result. If manual backup success means once again try for automatic backup then please share imccfgbakdm log file
I work for HPE

Re: TFTP error witch configuration backup of 3COM XRN-Fabric
Yes the XRN-Fabric (10.201.100.96) is correctly routed. I can ping the IMC Server on IP address 172.20.1.4 and vice-versa.
From XRN-Fabric to IMC TFTP
<SW-DTC-001>ping 172.20.1.4
PING 172.20.1.4: 56 data bytes, press CTRL_C to break
Reply from 172.20.1.4: bytes=56 Sequence=1 ttl=125 time=65 ms
Reply from 172.20.1.4: bytes=56 Sequence=2 ttl=125 time=17 ms
Reply from 172.20.1.4: bytes=56 Sequence=3 ttl=125 time=11 ms
Reply from 172.20.1.4: bytes=56 Sequence=4 ttl=125 time=12 ms
Reply from 172.20.1.4: bytes=56 Sequence=5 ttl=125 time=17 ms
--- 172.20.1.4 ping statistics ---
5 packet(s) transmitted
5 packet(s) received
0.00% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 11/24/65 ms
From IMC to Switch
Pinging 10.201.100.96 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 10.201.100.96: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=127
Reply from 10.201.100.96: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=127
Reply from 10.201.100.96: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=127
Reply from 10.201.100.96: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=127
Ping statistics for 10.201.100.96:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 1ms, Average = 0ms
So no routing issues here.

Re: TFTP error witch configuration backup of 3COM XRN-Fabric
Hello,
A manual backup as well as an automated backup fails with the same errors in the tftp error log:
