1)ISEE comes in 2 versions,1-st SEC is for small enterprises,only provides information to
HP remote support.Second,Data Centers version -
allows also secure remote access.I assume you
are meaning the first version.
no need to open firewall port 80 if you use
HTTP proxy.Basically ISEE sends out (via sort of encrypted + hashed tunnel) EMS events in form of (XML?) reports.
2)It contains Hardware Diagnostic scripts called MAPs that run (if needed) on your server
- all they do is to obtain information like
standard hp-ux commands do.You control if HP
support is allowed to run these scripts.
3)if you have support agreement with HP it can
open for you calls at local HP support center -
in case and there is a real problem.
