HP Insight Remote Support -> how it works
Hello,
please can someone explain to me how this software works? Who monitors 24x7 the customer server, software or technical HP? In case of problems the software contact HP or the service provider reference?
Thank you,
Simone

Re: HP Insight Remote Support -> how it works
Simone,
The overview is this. In your environment you have one Central Management Server that has HPSIM and Insight Remote Support Advanced installed on it. All of the other servers/storage in your environment report to the CMS via varying protocols (depending on the platform). The CMS then passes that information along to HP through port 443. The information passed includes Site Name, Site Address, Site Contact information, hardware failure as well as the part number needed to resolve the issue. HP then sends data back to your CMS that includes the incident number as well as the HP case number that the HP CE uses to order the part and come out on site. This is a very high level/basic overview. Hope this helps.
