HP Remote System Management Utility does not work on my VMware hosts

Im running the HP Remote System Management Utility V1.1-4 and it fails because the VMware host password contains the "@" symbol. Here's what I get:

hprsmcli -s MyVMwareHost -u root -p My@Password2016
Error: Unknown host: Password2016@MyVMwareHost

Is there a way around this other than changing the password on my hosts?
