Hi,
We have build for months ago a MC/iLo Card in our rx2620 running HP-UX 11.23.
We want now connect to the VGA-Port a Monitor, but the port seems not to be active or configurated. There is only a flickering underscore on the first line ...
In SAM > Display > Monitor configration, I see two "ATI Radeon 7000(0) Connector 1(2) 1024x768 @ 60 Hz 1024x768 60 Hz"
How can I activate this VGA Port to have a local Monitor ?
Thanks you for your help.
Thierry

Re: Activating VGA-Port on MC/iLo-Card A9803A
Have you gone into the console configuration portion of the EFI menu and made sure that the VGA selection is set to either primary or secondary? I'd bet it is set to "NC" right now...

Solution
Hi,
You can activate iLO/MP VGA port for text console output only.
This VGA port is not supported for local X-server.
To activate VGA port you need connect serial console and
stop booting process and access "Boot Option Maintenance Menu".
From "Select Active Console Output Devices" menu select
Acpi(HWP0002,700)/Pci(2|0)
From "Select Active Console Input Devices" menu select
Acpi(HWP002,500)/PCI(1|1)/Usb(1,0)
From "Select Active Standard Error Devices" menu select
Acpi(HWP002,500)/PCI(1|1)/Usb(1,0)
Then exit with this menu and select Cold Reset
Regards,
Zygmunt

Re: Activating VGA-Port on MC/iLo-Card A9803A
Hi Zygmunt,
Thanks you for your help.
I try this this morning (I can't restart this system everyday :-():
I have now on the monitor the following message :
"sole is on a Serial Device
futher output will appear on this output device"
In the Boot Options Maintenance Menu (Console Input Device(s) and Standard Error Device), i have now two records selected :
* Acpi(HWP0002,700)/Pci(1|1)/Uart(9600 N81)/VenMsg(Vt100+)
* Acpi(HWP0002,0)/Pci(1|0)/Usb(1, 0)/Usb(0, 0)
Perhaps I have to deactivate the first one ?
Best regards
Thierry
