HOW DO I BOOT FROM CD DRIVE with EFI
Hi,
I don't know how to boot from cd drive with my i2000 workstation. It has that EFI boot manager and when I choose boot from cd it doesnt work. I would like to go in ADD BOOT OPTION, then choose removable drives but it doesnt work. Someone help me please. ALSO I would like to boot from the cd of Win 2003 , install it then after it has to boot directlywith Windows 2003. How can I do that.
Thanks.

Re: HOW DO I BOOT FROM CD DRIVE with EFI
From the main EFI menu, select "EFI Shell"
Once in the shell, try the "map" command.
If a CD/DVD device is listed, try to change to that device, usually with "fo:" or similar.
One there, you can use ls/dir to find the install script, usually called INSTALL or similar. Try to run it to launch the CD.

Re: HOW DO I BOOT FROM CD DRIVE with EFI
Actually, i also face similar problem. This is my story....
When i initially got my i2000, i am able to boot from my CDROM to install my OS. I had successfully installed the evaluation copy. Recently i decided to remove the OS and replace it with SUSE and this is where my problem come in. This time, i insert the bootable SUSE disk 1 but it is not able to boot. Thinking that there is something wrong with the boot option, i deleted the boot option but is not able to add it back from the boot maintenance menu. The problem is that i cant find the CDROM entry under the removeable media selection list. Currently I only have ACPI.....(Primary, Slave), ACPI......(Primary Master), EFI..... to choose from.
So i decided to install it from EFI. Under EFI, i am able to see my CDROM mapping under
BLK3:............../CDROM(Entry1). I change to it using BLK3: and perform 'ls' command but it is not listing anything. Any idea how i can add back the CDROM to my boot options? Can do i install SUSE from my CDROM? I can confirm that there is nothing wrong with the CD and i can still access to the CDROM under Win2003. Please advise. Thanks in advance.
