SolutionThere are several commands available, but best for such is probably the SMH (graphical) parmgr.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: How to check physical h/w location in superdome
You can use olrad -q command to see the hardware and HBA locations.
# olrad -q
It will be in
w-x-y-z format : details given below:
--------------------------
w = Cabinet Number.
x = i/o chasis [i.e i/o chasis: 1 or 3 ]
y = cell number. 0 to 7 [ for 1 cabinet ]
z = slot number. [ The slot HBA is located.]
Other commands to relate the i/o address to slot location you can use: parstatus , ioscan & lanscan.
Cheers,
Raj.

Re: How to check physical h/w location in superdome
I have a NIC on hardware path 2/0/14/0/0/0.
Now I use olrad -q:
0-0-1-6 2/0/14/0/0/0 2.5 2.5 x8 x8 On Yes No Yes Yes PCIe
So I know now it is PCIe in cabinet 0, bay 0, chassis 1, slot 6.
(this is front left)
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: How to check physical h/w location in superdome
On all other platforms, including Superdome, the format of the slot ID is:
Cabinet#-Bay#-Chassis#-Slot#
but NOT (!!)
w = Cabinet Number.
x = i/o chasis [i.e i/o chasis: 1 or 3 ]
y = cell number. 0 to 7 [ for 1 cabinet ]
z = slot number. [ The slot HBA is located.]
Bay 0 is in front, bay 1 is in rear, chassis 1 is left, chassis 3 is right.
bays, chassis and slots are also labeled on the cabinet.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: How to check physical h/w location in superdome
You can use olrad -q command to see the hardware and HBA locations.
# olrad -q
It will be in
w-x-y-z format : details given below:
--------------------------
w = Cabinet Number. [ 0 or 1 ]
x = i/o bay number [ 0 or 1 ]
y = i/o chasis number [ 1 or 3 ]
z = slot number. [ The slot HBA is connected]
--------------------------------------------
In Addition to this , if you take a look physically to the superdome you will find the "i/o bay" numbers are printed on front and rare of the superdome. i.e i/o bay#0 and i/o bay#1 .
Also i/o chasis#1 and i/o chasis#3 printed.
And one i/o chasis will have 12 slots. So from the olrad outpur you can easily locate which HBA is located physically in which position.
Cheers,
Raj.

Service on a superdom may only provided by hp and it is not customer self repair!

Re: How to check physical h/w location in superdome
SD64B should be an Itanium superdome , 64 way, with added cabinets as you mentioned.
Please take a look at the link [ Superdome Cabinet Overview ] and hope it will clear up some of your doubts:

Re: How to check physical h/w location in superdome
cabinet 0 and 1 are the big ones, including cell boards and I/O. If you are in front, cab 0 is on the left, cab 1 is on the right (the big LED on the door is showing the number).
cabinet 8 and 9 are I/O expansions, each has a similar LED showing the number too.
Look at the cabinet, bay and chassis are labeled too.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
