How to upgrade SCSI EFI driver
I have a new HP rx4640 (itanium) with HP UX 11iv2. I am having issues with auto boot and was advised the following by HP
"f you then want to upgrade to a newer version of firmware, use the proper upgrade procedure. However, if you already have this autoboot problem, you can simply upgrade the SCSI EFI driver and then reset the machine. This should resolve the autoboot problem. Here is the basic procedure once you have copied all 4 files (efi8xxfl.efi, lsiscsi.rom, sysupdate.efi, and
update_SFW.efi) to the \EFI\HP\FIRMWARE directory:
fs0:\EFI\HP\firmware> sysupdate
Updating Ultra160 SCSI controllers to EFI Driver version 1.03.01.00
EFI8XXFL-1.01.13.00
"
1. How & where can I get the 4 files listed ?
2. Is is better to upgrade to the newer version of firmware ot only the SCSI EFI driver ?
Thanks for your input.
Regards,
Vijay

Re: How to upgrade SCSI EFI driver
Hi Vijay,
Once you get the files, you can copy those files to the EFI partition.
You can access/list this files by,
when you are at EFI prompt
shell>map ===> this command will list the efi filesystems
shell>fs0: ===> select the appropriate partiotion
once you go to the fs0:, almost all DOS commands work, you can use cd,dir etc, to see/list the files.
Hope this helps.
Siva.

Re: How to upgrade SCSI EFI driver
You can get the firmware patch on the ITRC .
http://www1.itrc.hp.com/
Once on ITRC select "patch/firmware database"
Then select "firmware" under find individual patch.
Next window in the search put "efi8xxfl.efi"
That will give you the firmware that your looking for.
Instruction on how to install are incleded in the patch
