hp rx4640 MP upgrading
I downloaded MP versions E.02.26 and version E.02.29, which are of tar.gz files.
I followed the following steps:
(i) SmartStart5.5--> Firmware Update--->from Supplementary Disc.
(ii) removed the SmartStart5.5 CD
(iii) put the CD containing E.02.26 and E.02.29 .tar.gz files.
(iv) But, I am unable to browse the CD to update MP firmware.
As I have run SmartStart-->Express Setup, I have no OS in the server.
Please advise me how to make/get the bootable E.02.26 and E.02.29 cds to update offline.

Re: hp rx4640 MP upgrading
AFAIR the only format was the MP initiated update via FTP.
So put them on a FTP server and follow the release notes to update.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

The Smart Start will only detect pre-defined file format. So it wouldn't take tar.gz file as input. Secondly I doubt Smart start supports iLO firmware update on Integrity servers because it supports Proliant servers per my understanding.

Re: hp rx4640 MP upgrading
As said, locate the MP initiated firmware files and perform the update as written in the release notes.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
