Hi we have an integrity rx2800 i2 server. Having an hp_ux 11.31 v3 installed on it.
I have installed Oracle on the machine. Created some file systems to increase temp size and install Oracle. Changed the /etc/fstab file accordingly and successfully installed Oracle and it was working good.
But i reboooted the machine. Now it wont start. I tried booting it several times.
Checking the systems event log on HP İLO. I have attached the screenshot. I am in a bad condition here and in need of urgent help.
Anyone having any idea ? Thanks in advance

Re: Integrity rx2800 i2 wont start, sas controller reser error
Here it looks like a problem with the disk controller, but there are also 2 fatal events that I would like to see.
Please capture the event log (from MP connection) and attach.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Integrity rx2800 i2 wont start, sas controller reser error
One of the fatal errors is quite old. Not related to this problem. And the other one is i thnk happened yesterday when a colleague of mine unplugged the server. But the problem was before.
Well now when i restart it does not give out those warnings sometimes. But it says the state is "at system firmware console" the operating system does not start i guess. The entire systems event log is attached.

Re: Integrity rx2800 i2 wont start, sas controller reser error
It still looks like the SAS controller has a problem.
From EFI shell do
Shell> drivers
look for the number of the controller (e.g. 23), then do
Shell> drvcfg -s 23
to go into the config utility and check the status.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Integrity rx2800 i2 wont start, sas controller reser error
Ok i assume it is "9A" ( i attached a scrrenshot showing drivers list )
i did drvcfg -s 9A and the result is :
Drv[9A] Ctrl[ALL] Lang[eng] - Options not set. Status = Unsupported

SolutionSince your controller has old firmware (with issues), I would get the
IPF Offline diagnostics cd
from software.hp.com
and update to version 3.66 first!
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Integrity rx2800 i2 wont start, sas controller reser error
\EFI\HP\TOOLS\IO_CARDS\Smartarray
saupdate.txt will give you the steps - you need the "sandman" file image.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Integrity rx2800 i2 wont start, sas controller reser error
You mount the CD (from usb stick or vmedia), go to the directory i told you and use saupdate to update the firmware (all from EFI) - see the readme.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Integrity rx2800 i2 wont start, sas controller reser error
Sas controller's firmware was up to date.
Updating the system's firmware solved the problem ( firmware of İLO and EFI etc. )
Thx for your help mr. I appreciate it.
