New - HPE Integrity Itanium RX2800 Servers for HP-UX Unix & OpenVMS

Can a company buy a New / unused (not Re-New) rx2800 i6 anymore from HP? I have a user that insists on a i6 rx2800 new / non-Re-New from HP. I can't seem to find a path for him. I might have 50 of the i4 rx2800 here with the same specs as the i6, same everything for $ 3k but they insist on new from HP.

Thanks

This malformed URL was even less useful than the usual "System
recommended content".  Perhaps others did better, but I got an error
page ending with "(Error: 400)", which suggested an invalid URL.  In
fact, replacing "||" with "&" got my browser to the actual (useless)
document.  Or, just truncate the URL after "docid=xxxxx":

      https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=sd00001798en_us

But it's still about as useless as most "System recommended content"
here.

What fraction of "System recommended content" gets a positive
response?  And, more important, where's the button/link for "Dang! That
was a total waste of my time!"?  But I digress.

Tell them (politely?) that they're morons?  How many years ago did
HP[E] stop making those things?  Suggest that they call HPE themselves,
and try to get one directly.  And that when that fails, they can get
what you have from you.

I'd be tempted to add a stupidity/obstinacy surcharge.

Agreed, link is useless... in response, users dont have a lot of choices if they need a box with HP-UX 11.31. Either they get one or figure out how to re-do their entire place with another OS.. few thousand vs 100s of thousand's..

You don't need to persuade me.  If _I_ needed an antique, I would not
be so fussy.  Especially if there's no great cost difference for a
service contract between a unit that's true-new and one that's like-new.

The cliche is "the customer is always right," not "the customer is
always smart."
