rx 2620 first time run - blank screen

I just purchased a rx2620, but it appears that I am unable to get any screen, it blinks a yellow light on?

Hi Niox,
It is somehow standart for a newly purchased rx2620 not to operate properly for a VGA console. You need to correct this, if you feel that this is a fault for you.

First of all you must obtain a cross cable connected between rx and a laptop.

Second, a setup of local terminal access is required.

To setup local terminal access:
At the hyperterminal settings, set these values; parity-8/none, 9600 baud, receive-none, transmit-none...

I looked to that thread, thanks a lot, but i still couldn't figure out how to manage it, my PC hyperterminal does not provide such variables...

Does your terminal services uses Reflection 1?

I followed all the instructions, but I suppose I need to continue doing something else...

Now it is best to give an IP, to your rx, to do this, you can use "arp" dos command,

Open a dos prompt and type arp -s

Where Mac address or rx is written on a label at the front side of the server.(You'll need to pull it)
And IP address is probably 192.168.0.xxx since you've already established a simple network connection with cross-cables between rx and your PC... Make sure that both rx and your host PC shares the same subnet.

After executing this command, it is easy to connect to rx via telnet
By typing "telnet "

You'll need to provide with the username and password as Admin,Admin

You'll reach the menu at this time.

From here it is possible to change default console access to VGA.

I accessed EFI Boot Manager but couldn't figure out how to enable Monitor? Could you please tell how to handle this?

From the EFI Boot Manager,
Enter to "Boot Configuration"
In the Boot Configuration Menu;
Enter to "Console Configuration"
You will select both options from this menu and change them as your VGA controller...

To identify which is your VGA controller, look for the options where it is "PCI" and not "Uart".

You should restart rx before changes take effect.
