rx 4640 server getting hanged

Hi,

I have hp rx 4640 server. The server is getting strucked. Not even able to take console login. If I reboot it it will work ok and if again left for few hours it will again get strucked. Even conole login is not coming.

No error in console logs also.

Appreciate any help.

Have you looked at the logs for problems?  Any disk I/O errors or NFS hangs?

Have you taken a TOC so that the Response Center can analyze the dump?

What HP-UX version are you on?  Are you up to date on patches?

Hi Dennis,

There is no error at the logs. No disk I/O error also is there.

I can't even raise the call from hp support centre as service is not under contract.

Is there any chance of hardware problems like heat sink failure or salting & how could I can identify this out.

HP-UX version is 11.31. Patches are uptodate.

Hi  Syed,

You can check system hardware logs in MP Console.

If you find the system  in hung state: press Ctrl+B in main console to get the MP console and check the system status.

If nothing works,  press TOC button for system to generate CRASH DUMP.

But Crash Dump Analysis, you have to contact HP Support Centre*.

Thanks everyone for their suggestion. The processor extended board was faulty and after replacing, it is working fine.
