Rx 7640 display blue screen
I have a new rx 7640 with pre installed HP-UX. It has one cell board.I have decided to installed Windows for itanium servers. I downloaded the smart start CD. When windows try to boot the first time after copying the files the Server gave a blue screen error. I have changed the CD twice but to no avail.
Below is the error message.
hese steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed.
If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer
for any Windows updates you might need.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware
or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.
If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart
your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then
select Safe Mode.

Re: Rx 7640 display blue screen
Hi Guys,
I am installing an itanium version of x 64 Windows 2003 Enterprise.
I saw that the ACPI setting was already to windows. I later changed the setting to windows static which also give the same error with any RED right.
I was also able to get some log from the MP Console. it reads as follow

What does the below error means.
I got this eeror when i changed the ACPI setting to windows static. without no Red light. How do i turn ACPI mode off during installation of windows
A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage
to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen,
restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow
these steps:
The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. Please contact your
system vendor for an updated BIOS. If you are unable to obtain an
updated BIOS or the latest BIOS supplied by your vendor is not ACPI
compliant, you can turn off ACPI mode during textmode setup. To do this,
press the F7 key when you are prompted to install storage drivers. The
system will not notify you that the F7 key was pressed - it will silently
disable ACPI and allow you to continue your installation.

Re: Rx 7640 display blue screen
Problems like these are usually driver related. Specially if there were no hardware failures before the installation. I think you should consider checking your hardware compatibility with windows

Re: Rx 7640 display blue screen
enter in EFI shell the command "parconfig" .
If the partition is set to vPars mode, then this could result in strange behaviour when booting Windows. To switch to the normal "nPars" mode, enter:
parconfig nPars
parconfig reset
and then later when the partition is back at EFI:
acpiconfig windows
reset
