messenger and Xp
I have win xp and my brother win 98. Both of us have the latest messenger version (4.6) but we are unable to have a voice conversation. My mic works perfectly and i know how to use messenger since with my last computer (with win 98), it worked. If anybody got an idea...

Re: messenger and Xp
If your XP PC is connected to the Internet via USB, check this out:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q307271
Does it work in either direction? Do you get any error messages?

Re: messenger and Xp
MS has a "howto" page for XP.... see if the following link is helpful:
http://support.microsoft.com/search/preview.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q307888
One item mentioned, is that the modem connect at BOTH ends MUST be 28.8 or better for voice.
