3rd party sip phones for NBX 6.5.22
I have been asked what is needed to use a ---
A. Cisco IP Phone 7940 Series as a sip phone for the NBX 6.5.22
B. Polycom SoundPoint IP 330 SIP.
Any instructions or procedures will be helpful.
Thanks

Re: 3rd party sip phones for NBX 6.5.22
hi...
On the NBX side, you need to create a User under the user configuration. Make sure the telephone group is Third Party SIP endpoint.
After that, go to the password configuration and set the password so it is the same as the extension.
That is all you should need on the NBX side. Point the phone at the NBX using the extension number as the password and it will register !!

Re: 3rd party sip phones for NBX 6.5.22
Thanks
I have set up a 3CX softphone without too many issues. Of course now they want a few hard sip phones, just for fun. I wasn't sure what else would be needed.

What about the: "Licensing and Upgrades> Third-Party Drivers" ?
When to use these third party drivers? What is the effect of not installing such drivers?

Re: 3rd party sip phones for NBX 6.5.22
The licensing and upgrades of third party drivers is only for something like the Citel boards that Citel made for the NBX.... and would provide a driver to be loaded on the nbx.
This is not necessary for SIP
