5412rzl2 Power-Redundancy with 2 Powersupplys
Hi All,
I have a question regarding power-supply redundancy with 5412rzl2 switches.
If Iam using:
- 2 Powersupplys (in the first two slots of the chassis)
- 6x Networking Modules A-F (first six modules) only!
What happens, if
- Powersupply #1 fails
or - Powersupply #2fails
-> Are all Networking Modules still up?
-> If yes, do they all receive the full power (e.g. 1100W) of the remaining powersupply for poe?
Thanks a lot in advance!

Re: 5412rzl2 Power-Redundancy with 2 Powersupplys
There shouldn't be a relationship between Power Supply Module(s) and Chassis's Slot(s) to be powered...there, instead, should be a difference between the PoE redudancy operating mode, configurations (and related variants) can be investigated further (considering the PS SKU you're using on your 5412R zl2 chassis and the number of PoE PD to be powered) by reading the HPE ArubaOS-Switch Power Over Ethernet (PoE/PoE+) Planning and Implementation Guide especially the HPE 5400R zl2 related part.
