We bought this switch due to the number of fibre ports but just want to use it as a layer 2 switch to connect up Fibre from outlying buildings.

Re: Disable layer 3 features on an hpe 5130
If you don't want to use the switch as a layer 3 switch, just don't configure ip adresses on the interfaces. except for the management interface of course.

SolutionThank you for your reply,
The switch is working as it should and I have set an ip address on the management Vlan however I can't ping the switch. (even though it is connected to the network). I haven't been able to set a default gateway for the management vlan as that command doesn't appear to exist. Any help with that much appreciated.
Thank you
