Help with VLAN Setup - Two HP switches
Hi - I am trying to setup two wirless VLANs on my home network. I would like advice on the switch configuration, or confirmation that I have set it up correctly as the setup is not working and I am attempting to localize the issue.
Equipment:
- Wifi AP: UniFi AP-nano HD: Three networks setup: Base (no/default VLAN), GUEST (VLAN 40), IOT (VLAN 50)
- The AP is connected to HPE 1820 8G (J9979A)
Port 1 - hardwire back to HPE 1920-24G (JG924A) - main system switch
Port 2 - Apple TV
Port 3 - UniFi AP -- VLAN tagged by AP per network
Port 4 - Sonos Connect
Port 5 - Yamaha AVR - this traffic should go on VLAN 50
Here are the 1820 Configuration Pages
The HPE 1920 is the main switch on my system.
Port 1 is connected to a Netgate SG3100 Router/Firewall with pfSense
Port 22 is the connection from the 1920 to the 1820
Other ports are to W10 PC, Printer, another 1820, etc - all non-VLAN devices
Here is the 1920 Configuration:
On the screenshot below, I just listed ports 1 and 22, all other ports not listed are same as 2 & 3:
I've read configuaration sections of both 1820 and 1920 manuals but this is my first VLAN setup.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Re: Help with VLAN Setup - Two HP switches
Update: I found a problem with my NAT rules in pfSense, which was preventing WAN/Internet access. Once fixed, everything seems to work correctly.
Having said that, if anyone sees issues or has suggestions with my setup, I would appreciate the feedback.
