How to configure uplink port with STP
Hi,
I have a question.
How to configure a up link port with STP?
I need disable only the configuration "stp edgde-port" or I need configure another parameter?
Regards

Re: How to configure uplink port with STP
What exactly do you want to do with which switches?
Basically, in a simple environment, you can just activate MSTP and leave it that way. You can further improve this config with root-protect and edged ports. Or with different trees over the different VLANs.

Re: How to configure uplink port with STP
usually you can leave it because you dont need to configure it. The STP basically its a solution for looping problem in HP the default mode of stp is mstp while in my opinion it's better to use rstp. And maybe if you want to configure the stp uplink i'm guessing maybe there are some discarding port in your uplink ?
