Hello I want to know what is it the recommended software version for this switch, by the other hand i want to know if there exists a direct weblink where i can check the list of recommended software version.

Hello,

Yes, if you have the HP/HPE/Aruba SKU (in your case it is J9775A representing the Aruba 2530 48G Switch model) you can go to the HPE My Networking portal (see here) found here:

https://h10145.www1.hpe.com/support/SupportLookUp.aspx

insert the SKU and select what the lookup will provide you, in your case "Aruba 2530 48G Switch (J9775A)".

Then "Download Software" on far bottom, this action will send you here:

https://h10145.www1.hpe.com/downloads/SoftwareReleases.aspx?ProductNumber=J9775A

where you will find all software releases (past - archived - and present).

Alternatively you can visit the Aruba Support Portal here: https://asp.arubanetworks.com/ and select "Sofware & Documentation" (https://asp.arubanetworks.com/downloads), there you can drill down to find your Switch using the Filtering features on the right panel.

Now few words regarding the "recommended software version"...actually, as you can see, for your Aruba 2530 (that is fairly generic for the entire Aruba ArubaOS-Switch NOS) there are 5 (five!) current software branches all receiving updates:

• YA.16.08
• YA.16.07
• YA.16.06
• YA.16.05
• YA.16.02

The YA.16.08 (generically the 16.08) is the cutting edge and it includes all the new features, the most conservative is now the the 16.02...personally I use the 16.05 and the 16.08...but it boils down to what feature you need (16.08 has more feature than 16.07, 16.07 has more than 16.06 and so on...).

ArubaOS-Switch Software Feature Support Matrix for XX.YY (where XX.YY is the software branch you're interested in) document would shed some light about which features are implemented on which XX.YY Software Branch.
