I am currently investigating 100% CPU usage on our MCM760 when looking at top I see 3 processes consuming all the CPU and they are the following
16591 root R 8068 440 73.0 0.3 nbstationsd
15398 root R 53M 440 65.2 2.6 iprulesmgr
14463 root R 10004 440 50.5 0.4 gandalf
I am new to HP networking equipment so I am unfamiliar with these processes and do not know what exactly they are for. I would appreciate any help I could get.
Current software version is 6.6.0.0 -22530

Re: Max CPU usage MCM760
Hi,
How many controllers?
How many accesspoints?
How many users?
Authentication - local or radius?
When was the controller last reboot?

Re: Max CPU usage MCM760
I appreciate the reply, a reboot did fix the issue after I noticed the uptime of the devices were over 800 days I assumed that was likely the cause of the high CPU usage.
How many controllers? - 2
How many accesspoints? - 40
How many users? - 200+
Authentication - local or radius? - local
When was the controller last reboot? 800+

SolutionOk Great.
I have never been able to run stable over 150 days or so.
The MSM760's always becomes a little unstable. Nothing you can put a finger on but it always "works" better if I keep the uptime low.
A quick restart during some holiday keeps it all fresh ;-D

Re: Max CPU usage MCM760
Good to know and I will keep that in mind. I am still getting used to this whole HP environment.
