MSM 466-R in building to building configuration
Hi,
I have 2 MSM466-R.
I just want to create a building-to-building link
I configure IP with static addresses
I configure radio1 in local mesh only, 802.11n/a, channel 36
I configure a local mesh profile on radio1 in static mode with the remote MAC address
result :
Wireless client stations (Radio 1)
Number of associated client stations: 1
MAC address IP address VLAN SSID Authorized Authentication Association time Signal Noise SNR Action 80:C1:6E:04:B6:E0 0.0.0.0 WDS Yes 802.1x 66:17:27 -115 -114 -1 Disassociate
I cannot ping a MSM466-r from the other
I forget something but i don't know what.
Can you help me ?
Thanks

Re: MSM 466-R in building to building configuration
HI,
I can not configure my access points in local mesh mode.
nothing is displayed in Local mesh neighborhood
Is it obligatory to use external directional antennas on the access points in local mesh mode (or just internal antennas can be used to configure the APs)?
thanks for reply

Re: MSM 466-R in building to building configuration
I'm following the steps described in the documentation, it does not work. It does not seem so complicated.
Are there anyone who made a local mesh in static mode that could pilot me ?
How do I know if one of my APs do not present defects ?
thank you

Re: MSM 466-R in building to building configuration
You can use whatever antennae are connected or installed in the AP. Obviously for a point-point link, a directional antennae pointing in the correct direction would be be preferable. I have done mesh bridges in controlled mode (ie with a controller) using the built-in omni antennae.

Re: MSM 466-R in building to building configuration
Next step: can you provide a topology?
Do you have 1 AP controlled and your second one is Autonomous? Is your 2nd AP controlled as well through Local Mesh (WDS)?
