Balance Controllers access to volumes
Hello.
I have the current setup:
MSA1060 10GB iSCSI
12 10k SAS Disks
Two Storage Pools : A and B. 6 disk each.
Created Two Volumes: Volumen_A and Volume_B using maximum capacity on each storage pool.
Mapped both volumes to one ESXi host and connected two 10 gbps port from the host to the array, one on each controller A1 and B1. Direct Attach. Created two datastores.
Did a writing test to both datastores simultaenously but all traffic is going thru A1 port, not using B1 at all.
Any thoughts on how to ensure that I use A1 port for Volumen_A and port B1 for Volume_B?
Thanks

Re: Balance Controllers access to volumes
Hello,
I understand that the there is just one host where both the volumes from array are mapped.
Could you please advise if you had tried the write test to volume b alone.
Also to understnad a bit more about your setup, would it be possible to share the output of the below commands
#show volumes
#show pools
#show disk-groups
#show maps
#show host-port-statistics
#show versions
#show shutdown-status
Along with the above, please let us know what is version of ESX host.
Regards

Re: Balance Controllers access to volumes
Hi,
the default Path Setting in ESX is Fixed Path, so your Server only uses one Path.
Configure to Round Robin (Preferred for MSA) or a different Path and check again: Modifying path information for ESXi hosts
