Compatibility Matrices for EVA XCS and B-Series Switches
I am looking for the matrices for the XCS version and the acceptable version of B-Series switch firmware. Can someone point me in the right direction. TIA.

Re: Compatibility Matrices for EVA XCS and B-Series Switches
Hi!
If you want acceptable B-series switch firmwares check out the 'B-Series Connectivity Stream' on HP SPOCK.
http://h20272.www2.hp.com/Pages/spock2Html.aspx?htmlFile=hw_switches.html
For EVA it's the "P6000 Compatibility Reference".
I don't think there's any matrices that give you XCS - FOS compatibility.
Generally you should be running the supported firmware for each device.

Re: Compatibility Matrices for EVA XCS and B-Series Switches
You should check this information in the HP Single Point of Connectivity Knowledge (SPOC).
Taken from the compatability guide at: http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02523047/c02523047.pdf
For detailed specifications about supported operating systems, adapters and switches, see the Single Point of Connectivity Knowledge (SPOCK) website (
http://www.hp.com/storage/spock).You must register for an HP Passport to access SPOCK. If you do not already have an account, click Register to log in on the main page and follow the instructions. After signing into HP Passport, you will be directed to the SPOCK website. After you gain access, select View by Array or View by OS under SAN Compatibility in the left menu, and then select the array and operating system combination that applies to your environment. After you make your selection, you can view component support information about your environment. Expand Host Bus Adapter (HBA) to view supported HBA details. Expand Fibre Channel Switch to view supported switches. To view details for a supported switch, navigate to Other Hardware in the left menu and select Switches. Then select the connectivity stream document for the switch model/series you are using to view specific support details. For more information on how to use SPOCK, see the Overview at http://h20272.www2.hp.com/Pages/spock_overview/introduction.html. You must sign in to HP Passport to gain access.

Re: Compatibility Matrices for EVA XCS and B-Series Switches
I can't find XCS vs FOS compatibility in HP SPOCK. I tried this:
- view by FC switch
- press next a couple of times I get to something like this "» EVA4000/4100 EVA6000/6100 EVA8000/8100 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 x64"Under that you get a list of switches. If you go into one of them you get the inverse list. This however doesn't say which XCS or FOS version is supported, but it does say which switch models are supported.

Re: Compatibility Matrices for EVA XCS and B-Series Switches
Hi Johan,
Yes, there is no direct table of XCS vs FOS compatability. Spock will guide which are the switches supported for the array and B-SERIES FC SWITCH/CONNECTIVITY STREAM lists the firmware revisions supported. Your previous post on this does mentions this.
I only intended to give the SPOC link to make it clear for the original question author on how to check the things.
