Complete Storage Redundancy With SA6400 Controllers
I apologize if this has been posted elsewhere. I have done some research and could not come up with an answer.
We are looking for a way to obtain storage redundancy with 2-6402 array controllers and 2-Dual Channel MSA30 external chassis attached to a DL585 G1.
We would like to configure the two MSA30 chassis (both with 14-72GB drives)into one logical drive and be able to seemlessly recover from a controller or chassis failure. I don't think a 6402 supports RAID 10 (A mirrored stripe set), so I don't think this is possible. I know SAN is probably the way to go here for complete storage redundancy, but we were looking for a way to do this with DAS.
Does anyone have any suggestions on this type of setup? Is it possible?

Re: Complete Storage Redundancy With SA6400 Controllers
Hey Todd,
As per ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/proliantstorage/arraycontrollers/compatability-matrix.pdf
I would bet on SA6404s + 512 BBWC + RAID ADG !
This combination should give you a good redundancy.
Cheers !
James.
