Help Needed in EVA4100 Setup
Hello!
Just received a EVA4100 Starter Kit (not SAN Starter Kit) and 2 HP Storageworks 4/8 SAN Switch. I have given both switches an IP, but didn't realize that we need FC Cards (till now) for a Windows PC that will run CommandView. Can you use any FC cards that support 2GB or 4GB, or does it have to be a particular card.
And any other setup help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Emil

Re: Help Needed in EVA4100 Setup
The HBAs need to be qualified by HP Support to have a supported configuration.
Download and take a long look at the SAN Design Guide (HP StorageWorks SAN design reference guide) at http://hp.com/go/sandesignguide .
Note: While I am an HPE Employee, all of my comments (whether noted or not), are my own and are not any official representation of the company

Re: Help Needed in EVA4100 Setup
Hello!
I am looking for a list of supported FC HBA's that the management server (running CommandView) can have.
Regards,
Emil

Re: Help Needed in EVA4100 Setup
This used to be documented in the compatibility references, but it is no longer.
Looks like you can use any supported adapter/driver combination. This is documented in the Windows connectivity release notes:
HP StorageWorks 4x00/6x00/8x00 Enterprise Virtual Array Connectivity 6.1B for Windows Release Notes (5697-6762, June 2007)
Right now, this link works:
