Re: How to expand MSA 2040 Volume
"Expand By" field you need to enter the amount of space by which you want to expand the volume. For example, your current volume size is 2GB and you want the volume size to be 5GB. So in "Expand By" field you need to enter 3GB
Hope this helps!

Re: How to expand MSA 2040 Volume
Hi Dear,
Volume is expanded successfully, how to expand now in host? because its still showing old size in host, because i did not find unallocated space from disk mgmnt in server.
We have 2 Win Server 2012R2 connected with MSA2040 via Fiber Channel.

Re: How to expand MSA 2040 Volume
Try "Rescan Disks" option from Disk Management. If still you can't see unallocated space, then unmap the volume from MSA and then re-map to Windows Servers again.
Hope this helps!

Re: How to expand MSA 2040 Volume
1st option for you as I mentioned earlier "Rescan Disks" option from Disk Management.
2nd Option could be you create a test volume of small size and present to same windows host. Then put some test data. Then expand it with small size at MSA end. Then lets see what you are facing at the Windows Disk management.
Hope this helps!

Re: How to expand MSA 2040 Volume
This means you followed the correct process. Last time what went wrong - it will be difficult to tell without checking logs or deep drive analysis in public forum. You can log support ticket with Microsoft and HPE to do the troubleshooting.
Hope this helps!

Re: How to expand MSA 2040 Volume
Already tried that, HPE support says contact Microsoft support, Microsft support says we are not able to do anything becasue new storage is not being reflecting either in Disk Mgmt or in FailOver cluster Manager

Re: How to expand MSA 2040 Volume
In that case you need to plan for downtime and unmap the MSA volume from all hosts and then re-map the same.
Hope this helps!
